Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was spent with both our families. First we went to Gonzalo's house and had dinner with my parents there. I can't begin to describe how thankful we are because this has been a rough year for my dad. Both in his personal life and health. He had some legal challenges early in the year and recently injured himself in a bad fall but he is doing remarkably well, which to me is a result of heartfelt prayers from family and friends whom I am extremely grateful for.

After leaving Gonzalo's house we headed over to my brother in-law Luigi's place to wish them all a Happy Thankgiving. All in all it was a great night spent with mine and Ernie's family.

Happy Halloween Birthday to Nikki

I honestly wanted to have a birthday party for Nikki this year given we haven't had one for her in a LONG time. But with all the health challenges my dad has been having and other stuff going on in the family we just decided to take her to Disneyland. Her day fell on a Saturday which was perfect. So that was her gift (plus a few other wrapped surprises at home) from us. She was quite pleased. Of course, what kid wouldn't be, right?

My Dad

It's been almost 2 weeks now and my dad is still in the hospital. So far he has had 2 surgeries to drain the fluid build-up on his brain. His right knee has a small fracture so he has to wear a brace on that leg. Last week he developed stomach pains so they had to run all these tests. We haven't heard any results yet but I do know they have him on a an "onlyl liquid" diet for now because anything solid that goes in his mouth causes him great discomfort. He hasn't eaten since Friday. We are very frustrated that we haven't heard any news from the dcotors yet. It's only been 4 days. How long does it take to get results? Today they had to move him back up to ICU because he developed a 103 fever, his heart rate picked up and he had trouble breathing. He is more stable now and is being watched closely. On a brighter note Lindsey and Nikki are doing fine and back in school. I was out sick all last week but am doing much better. Tomorrow morning I have my breast MRI so I am feeling quite anxious about that as well. My stress level is high but my faith in God is even higher. I pray that my dad's condition improves and is back home in no time and that my MRI comes back clean. I've been clean for the past 4 years now and am just hoping and praying that everything is okay.
