Memorial Day
Today was the first day that I didn't have to wake up early or rush to be somewhere on time. Its nice for a change to just sleep in and not have to worry about the clocking chasing me. We didn't do much today. The weather has been so peculiar lately. We can't really plan a nice day at the park with these dark clouds and cool air. We just spent most of our day indoors. Then later in the afternoon I remembered that Joann's was having a Memorial Day sale (40% off). I couldn't pass on that. So Lindsey and I went and did some shopping. I only wanted a few things but ended up spending over $100. I was so dissappointed in myself but then realized that I was saving $$ in the long run because most of the stuff I got was for card making and I always buying cards for either a birthday or shower for someone.
Before I forget, here are some pictures of my family.

Embellishments
This morning we took the kids to the park after their music lessons. I took advantage of some good photo opportunities. Some of which I will download shortly (I left the camara in the car, too lazy to go out and get it). Memory works has some really cool Fancy Pants and Daisy D's scrap paper designs that I can't wait to get my hands on. I haven't had much experience with embellishments such as eyelets and ribbons and things. Though I'm sure they're simple to use, it just never crossed my mind to use them until I joined Memory Works. I hope to really jump in and experiment with different things. I've been too conservative with my layouts and sometimes afraid to try new things for fear that they might take away the focus on the photos themselves. I've just learned to not hold back. There really is no right or wrong way to lay out your favorite pictures. Just gather some good quality paper that is acid and lignan free and some cute embellies and just have fun with it. I have attached a picture of the flowers I use. You can get a jar of 300 for $6.00. Not bad!

Sharing my work
I must have changed my template 50 times today until i could finally settle on one that I liked. I so wanted to work on my scrapbook today but my kids had a spring musical at school. I am amazed at how well Lindsey's jazz band has improved. They almost sound professional. I'll have to post a little video on their playing. They're pretty amazing for 5th and 6th graders.
I took pictures of some of my layouts. The picture quality is not the best. Maybe I can talk my hubbing into buying me a new camera. Wouldn't THAT be nice?

First Blog - Introduction
Well this is my first attempt at blogging on this site. I am brand spanking new at this blogging stuff so please bear with me as I learn, make mistakes and re-learn things as I go along. Well here is the inside scoop on me. I have been married to my husband Ernie for 5 years. We have been together for 14 years. We have two beautiful girls Nicole and Lindsey ages 6 and 11. My main purpose for starting this blog is to talk about my interest in scrapbooking and to just share a little bit about me. I hope to download pictures on some of my work. I've been scrapping off and on for the past 4 years. Between being a full-time working mother and wife and attending all my kids school activities, I try to sneak in a few minutes of scrap time here and there. Sometimes I even have to wait for everyone to go to sleep in order to get some work done. Friday and Saturday nights are the best for me because I don't have to worry so much about getting up early to go to work the next day. I am currently working on Nicole's scrapbook. Its almost done. Next I'll be taking apart Lindsey's old photo album and re-doing it completely. Can't wait to get started. I'll post some pictures later to show what I've done so far. I'm still learning and picking up new stuff here and there so please be patient.
